I'm İpek Göktaş Kalkan. I have been working in EPD, LCA and sustainable building products for over 14 years.

Throughout my career I have worked on both sides of the EPD process — as an LCA practitioner preparing EPDs and as an independent third-party verifier. This dual perspective means I approach every project not only from a modelling and reporting standpoint, but also from the angle of what will actually be scrutinised during verification.

My background in green building also shapes how I see EPDs. I don't treat them purely as technical documents. I understand how they are positioned in the building products market, how they are used in green building projects, and what value they can genuinely create for manufacturers.

As an independent EPD verifier, I am approved under the International EPD System, EPD Hub, EPD Global and RTS EPD. I am also an active member of the EPD Hub Technical Committee, contributing directly to PCR development and alignment with EN 15804+A2 and the Construction Products Regulation.

EPDlogy was founded by me in Helsinki in 2026. My aim is to help manufacturers navigate EPD and LCA processes in a way that is clearer, more controlled and ready for verification.

For me, an EPD project is not just about running calculations or producing a results table. From the very start, it requires the right PCR framework, clearly justified assumptions, controlled data quality and early identification of potential verification risks.
